Senior's Section Rules

Rules Effective November 2006

1. Name

Stocksfield Golf Club Senior Section

2. Officers of the section and their responsibilities

Chairman

Function is to preside at the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) and Extraordinary General Meeting (E.G.M.). In his absence the meeting will elect a Chairman from those Present. He will also chair meetings of the committee.

Secretary

Correspondence and minutes of A.G.M. and any E.G.M., Notices and Agenda of General Meetings.

Treasurer Income and Expenditure.

Preparation of Annual Financial Statement for presentation at A.G.M.

League Representative

Attendance at League Meetings. Fixtures - confirmation of same with opponents one week beforehand, all League affairs concerning the Section. Liaison with the Captain regarding rearranged or cancelled fixtures.

Captain

Control of the game of golf in accordance with the Rules of Golf, Club rules and League rules where applicable. Application of regulations concerning Section Trophies, Competitions and Championship. Selection of team for matches. Representing the Section at such matches or appointing a Captain for the day (normally the Vice Captain). To arrange Competition dates in consultation with the League Representative.

Vice Captain

To assist and where necessary to represent the Captain by mutual agreement with him.

All of the above with the exception of the Chairman to be elected at the A.G.M. and to hold office until the next A.G.M. Committee Shall consist of the above Officers and one additional member to be elected annually at the A.G.M. In the event that no nominations for any of the above posts are received in time for the A.G.M. then the Committee are empowered to co-opt a members) to fill the vacancies(ies).

3 Management

a. The management of the Section shall be vested in a Committee consisting of the Officers and one elected member acting in accordance with these rules. b. The Committee may nominate sub-committees for specific purposes. c. The Committee may co-opt Officers or committee members as in 2 above to fill mid-season vacancies, such co-opted members to be eligible for election at the next A.G.M. d. The Members, at an E.G.M. may remove any Officer before the end of his period of Office and appoint a replacement.

4 General Meetings

a. An Annual General Meeting will be called in the month of March every calendar year on a date fixed by the Committee.

b. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called at any time by the Committee or on request by one third of the Members.

c. Adequate notice of any meeting should be posted by the Secretary at least 21 days before the date of such meeting, stating the date place and time of the meeting together with any resolution for consideration at the meeting

d. Nominations for Officers and Committee Member must be entered on the form provided on the Section notice board and signed by the proposer and seconder. This notice to be posted at least 14 days before the A.G.M. and removed 3 days before the meeting.

e. Only resolutions outlined in the notice of a General Meeting may be considered at such meeting. Resolutions for consideration at a General Meeting must be delivered to the Secretary at least 28 days before the Meeting with the names of proposer and seconder.

f. The outcome of resolutions will be decided by a show of hands. g. Where contested the election of Officers and Committee Member will be decided by secret ballot. Uncontested nominations will be considered as elected unanimously at the A.G.M.

5 Members

a. Any fully paid up member on reaching the age of 60 years will be eligible for membership.

b. Honorary membership may be awarded to any member at the discretion of the Committee.

c. Subscriptions and match levies will be fixed or revised at the A.G.M. following the the advice of the Treasurer.

d. Any conduct prejudicial to the welfare or reputation of the Section will be dealt by the Committee.

6 Accounts

a. The Committee shall cause proper books of account to be kept regarding money received and spent by the Section and the purpose of such receipts and expenditure.

b. At every A.G.M. the Treasurer shall present the members with a proper Income and expenditure account.

c. The books of account may be examined annually by a member appointed by the Section at the A.G.M.

7 Complaints

Any complaint must be made in writing to the Secretary for consideration by the committee.
