Team was Josh McCutcheon, Sam Wilkinson, Alex Brown, Richie Armstrong, Andy Wain and Gary Kennedy. Yes some new faces in there this week. 3 members of the selected team couldn’t make it on the day so after many texts, a few phone calls and a last minute flash of inspiration we managed to get a team of 6 together, narrowly avoiding my Hadrian league debut. And as it turned out I don’t think we could have done any better no matter what team we turned out. This match was against a team that hadn’t lost a home game all season so it was always going to be tough which makes it an all the more impressive result. All the matches were close and the standard of golf was high. With Josh winning 1 up on the last with a good birdie, Sam losing out 3-2 against some impressive play by his opponent, Alex winning 2-1 after leading most of the way, Richie winning 1 up on the last after some excellent putting, Andy winning 2-1 with a tap in 15 footer on 17 and Gary narrowly losing 1 down on the last. The result keeps us third in the league, for the time being at least but definitely still in the frame. So well done on yet another great team performance and very well done and thanks again to the lads that stepped up at very short notice. Next up Ponteland (currently top of the league) home next Tuesday 17 July .
