Team was Alex Brown, Sam Wilkinson, Richie Armstrong, Gary Kennedy, Graeme Simpson and Ben Squire. This was as expected a tough match against a team that had only lost once at home and that was against league leaders Ponteland. Two late unavailabilities resulted in the inclusion of Richie and Gary at very short notice so thanks very much to them for stepping in. All of the matches were close with all 6 going down the 16 hole for the first time this season at Bedlingtonshire. Alex turned a losing position into a 2-1 win and sent his opponent, the club chairman, home in the huff. Sam maintained an early lead for the duration of the match winning 2 up on the last. Richie from a strong lead after 6 holes unfortunately lost 3-1 to an opponent who found his form late into the match. VC Gary built up a 6 hole lead early on and went on to win convincingly 4-2. Graeme won 2-1 in tight match with a great long put on 16 and Ben fought hard in his match but ultimately lost 3-2. The result keeps us third in the league still and sends us into our last match of the season in a very strong position with a good lead on most of the chasing pack. So well done on yet another great team performance. Next up last game of the season Tyneside home next Tuesday 31 July . We are also in the final of the Davison Cup against Tyneside at Matfen on Sunday 19 August after beating Alnwick last Sunday.
