Competitions update

Thanks to all those who entered the Pro’s sweep on Wednesday, we had 64 entries and it was a good test for the new score entry system. The score entry system is limited in it’s functionality as it is purely a means of entering gross scores with no checks and no points calculation and no way to show a leader board as the scores are not analysed until after they are imported into Handicap Master the following day. Despite these shortcomings we do need you to enter all scores into the 'MyGolf' score entry system, we are trying very hard to make this system work so we can continue to run competitions and we greatly appreciate your help with this.

Please note the system can only accept scores if all 18 holes have an entry, so if it is a 12 hole competition it is necessary to enter ‘No Return’ for the last 6 holes (if you have played the last 6 holes please don’t enter your actual scores). A few errors have been detected in the entered scores so it is important to recheck your entries before pressing ‘submit’.

In order to prevent errors from affecting the result we ask that everyone marks a scorecard and if you think a score could be in the frame (or if you have a 2) then please photograph your score card and email it to competitions@stocksfieldgolfclub.co.uk  this will help us eliminate any entry errors. This may seem like a lot of extra work but it will be a big help in ensuring the system works fairly for everyone.

For those not too familiar with the entry system, it is acceptable for one person to enter scores for his playing partners, so for example one person could record all scores on one card then after agreeing all scores are correct enter them all and if anyone has a good score (or a 2) then photograph the card and email it to competitions@stocksfieldgolfclub.co.uk.

Looking ahead we have an 18 hole Pro’s sweep this Saturday off white tees which will be a qualifier, also we are planning to run club competitions starting with the Braidwood cup on 13th June. The club diary on the website has been updated to show the program of upcoming competitions and the Fixture list will be updated over the coming days. Also please note the BRS system is back working on 10 days advance booking.
