Covid 19 – Information for Visitors
Stocksfield Golf Club follows the guidance of England Golf and in order that we are able to "Play Safe – Stay Safe", we have put into practice the following policies and procedures and ask that everyone abides by them.
When the Professional’s shop is open for business, everyone is asked to PLEASE wear a mask and follow the guidance displayed.
The practice putting green by the 1st tee can be used but all players are asked to observe the “social distancing” rules. Hand sanitisers are available for use near the first tee prior to the round of golf and at the main entrance of the Clubhouse at the end of the round. When leaving the course please do so as directed and avoiding 1st tee area.
On the course all rakes have been removed, ball washers have been taken out of commission and flag sticks must not be touched. A system is in place whereby the ball will not drop to the bottom of the hole and can be safely removed with 2 fingers. All distance markers and markers indicating areas on the course such as penalty areas must not be touched and to be treated as immovable obstructions and ball dropped in accordance with rules of golf. Golf buggies hired from the Golf Club will be disinfected prior to and after use. Only one person allowed in the buggy unless members of the same household.
It is also important to remind golfers that the standard of golf attire expected is SMART CASUAL WEAR only. Examples of clothing not allowed on the course are jeans, football shirts, sports shorts and tracksuits.
When the Clubhouse is open to purchase food and drink it will only be with table service. As the numbers of people using the Clubhouse facility are restricted at any one time (due to social distancing) to a maximum of 24 inside and 24 on the decking we would ask for co-operation in helping us maintain these numbers by being fair and reasonable, at the busy times and people are waiting, without the need for confrontation.
Hand sanitisers are in place where necessary and directional arrows are on the floor guiding you to the diary in order to allow the mandatory record keeping of people using the facility and customers are asked to record accordingly. Payment for food and drink can be done via contactless credit card as the preferred option but cash can be taken when cards not available.
ALL of the arrangements in place are not intended to detract from the experience of playing golf at Stocksfield, and we sincerely hope all our visitors and members guests are able to enjoy themselves. In the strange times we are living through all the above are an attempt to help us STAY SAFE and STAY WELL.
